 PEOPLE SINCE 2011
Impact-image-Patients

Since 2011, our service has helped meet the needs of more than 3,000 children and young people, as well as their siblings, parents and families.

Our service helps children and young people with sight loss and visual impairment (VI) feel less isolated, supports their wellbeing, and enables them to be more independent and take part, whether in school, with friends or at sport.  It leads to improved life chances and helps them reach their potential.

Recent achievements include:

  • Starting the research study "the impact of clinical psychology on children and young people with sight loss and visual impairment" at the Oxford Children's Hospital.

  • Expanding our service in Cambridgeshire and East Anglia to reach more beneficiaries.
In response to the Covid-19 pandemic FAB's psychologists moved away from face-to-face appointments, to telephone and video appointments. This new approach proved popular and beneficial so we now deliver a mix of face-to-face, telephone and video appointments as needed.

FAB gratefully acknowledges the support and generous grants from our sponsors
